"Block" voting
This week, my wife's library is running their vote for Surrey Book of the Year. Rather than using a pen and paper vote, she has opted to use Jenga blocks to give a more visual representation of the results. Students place a block in front of their favourite, and then blocks are stacked for a quick tally. (If you want a more confidential approach, kids could place their block in a basket, and then the contents could be stacked in front of the titles.) Makes for a fun numeracy exercise too!
